Tripod Lamp Makeover

This lamp wasn’t in desperate need of a makeover. I, however, was desperate to make it over.
I dismantled the whole thing and then sanded every bit of it. I shot the wood parts with Krylon black satin and used silver Rub ‘n Buff on the metal parts.
I had considered recovering the original lampshade, but I couldn’t get past its very traditional square shape. A new barrel shade was in order. Both the original lamp and the new shade came from Target. As a matter of fact, while shopping for the new shade, I saw the original lamp, which I used as a model to try on new shades. Very helpful!
